Science, Engineering & Technology
Did you know that 4-H offers Deschutes County youth the opportunity to participate in a variety of programs in the Science, Engineering, and Technology fields. To date the program has offered Lego Robotics classes and summer camps, HAM radio, Digital Photography, Global Positioning System (GPS), and Global Information Survey (GIS), Aeronautics, and Orienteering Clubs.
We also have curriculum for Rocketry, Windmill (wind generation), and computer refurbishing.

4-H SET builds self confidence, self esteem, knowledge and life skills.
Encourages pursuing opportunities in science, technology, engineering and math.
Introduces basic Robotic concepts such as:
- Problem Solving (or disaster management)
- Structure (Robot) stability
- Motor attachment
- Motor control
- Touch sensors, light sensors, rotation sensors
- Basic programming using ROB0LAB
Provides students with the opportunity to develop work skills such as:
- Teamwork
- Collaboration
- Disaster Management
- Creative Solutions
4-H Lego Robotics Clubs and After School Programs:
4-H will be offering after school clubs encouraging youth to participate in designing, building and programming Lego robots. The programs will focus on the First Lego League competition program (www.firstlegoleague.org) with a regional competition in early December.
