What Are 4-H Record Books?
The 4-H Record Book is a summary of every good thing that you did in 4-H and outside of 4-H during the past year. They consist of a permanent record (which stays with you through our 4-H career) and a project record (which is renewed each year). These records can be used for job applications, college scholarships, proof of community service hours, etc.
To participate at the Deschutes County Fair, you must pass a pre-fair record book check proving that your records are current and up to date. Dates for this year’s checks are listed below.
In Deschutes County, the 4-H year runs from October 1st through September 30th. Record books and scrap books being entered for the judging contest are due into the Extension office the first Friday in October by 3:00 pm. Awards in recognition of your outstanding accomplishments are presented at the Leader/Member Recognition Night.
